Mexico!!

I recently had the oppuurtunity to go to Rocky Point with a friend's family! It was a blast! We stayed for about five days and it was great to get away from life for a bit. I tend to stress ALOT over simple things and it takes me to the point of crying, yelling, becoming very irritable, etc. It is not very fun to be around me and sometimes i just need a good cry((: But going to Mexico was great because i could just get away from the excruciating homework of ELP classes, chores, grading papers for my mother, and i could just relax. We took the quad out for joy rides pretty much 50% of every day we were there. We got to ride on a tube attached to a jet ski, which was a little painful but very fun! I got to read while laying on the beach which was excellent! and i bought a bracelet down town at the fish market. i had alot of fun and i'm grateful for the oppurtunity i had to go!

Girls Camp!

Recently, I spent 5 days at Camp LoMia having the best time ever! Our theme was "In Tune," and everyday we had lessons, talks, or thoughts on staying in tune with the spirit, and how the holy ghost will guide you. It was such a good theme for me! Camp LoMia is for sure my favorite place in the entire world. Its amazing how much you can feel the spirit at a campsite with creepy crawlers. But i love going there every year and wouldn't miss it for the world. I thought I would share the stuff we did! Day 1- We arrive at camp, unpack, decorate our fabulous cabin, and go to flag.

this is the door to the cabin I stayed in. Our wards' theme was The Lion King so we had great jungle decorations for our cabins and addies.

this is the sweet banner at the main lodge!

This is my amazing ward at flag ceremony!

After all this happened, we had skit night which was just a blast! Our ward worked really hard on the skit and practiced alot! We were excited to perform and it turned out pretty good!

Everyones favorite skit was performed by the four camp nurses. (You can see their picture below) Each skit was based off of a musical. The nurses followed "Latrini." In their skit they were the amazing Latrini Sisters. They wrote new lyrics to songs in each wards musicals. It was so hilarious!

Day 2 was our hike day! Level 2's hiked to Darling Rock. Which was quite the experience. After hiking a mile up a mountain, we realized we were on the wrong path. So we hiked down and went forward for another 2 hours. We all were ready to go by the time we reached Darling Rock, but we had fun all the same.

Day 3 was Sunday. We had church at "the sacred grove" at camp. Afterwards we had a sunday school lesson and Young Womens lesson given by our leaders. And that night we had a fireside. (The fireside was so rudely interrupted by a skunk spray. While the speaker was talking, everyone plugged their noses and started coughing and said, "Whats that smell?" Sad, huh?)

Day 4 was our High Adventure Day! Level 1's did archery and got to go on a zip line! Level 2's (thats me) went canoeing. And Level 3's went repelling! Going canoeing for the first time rocked! My canoe buddy and I got into many splash wars with other girls, and our Bishop tipped our canoe over and we fell into the cold water, so we took a swim. Haha, but I thought it was still great.

After high adventure we had lunch and a little presentation. We were dismissed with our wards to testimony meeting after that. Testimony meeting was great and we got pie and ice cream afterwards! (: Our ward then went snipe hunting! Which, usually is a fun activity for me... but i was deprived of sleep for four days and VERY cranky. I wasnt much fun to hunt with. I apologize for that.

(For those that don't know....snipe hunting is where you take all the girls and go out looking for snipes. Which are little animals. They are attracted to the smell of toothpaste and peanut butter, which explains the toothpaste on everyones faces! haha! :)

But, I still had an amzing time at Girls Camp and i can't believe its already over and I won't see beloved LoMia for another year....but i can't wait and next years theme will be great! (:
